People choose to join the Proctor community for many reasons: support systems, informality, community ethos, experiential programs, specific sports, etc. The arts have drawn students since the concept of integrated "skills courses" was introduced thirty-three years ago. In recent times--with the construction of new arts facilities and expansion of the faculty--Proctor is attracting artists at a profoundly new level. Below, the cast of A Midsummer Night's Dream completes concentration exercises immediately before doors opened on opening night.

Terry Stoecker and Michael Littman's direction of Shakespeare's comedy is inspired with novel casting, a stunning, abstract set and direction that appeals to both to the heart and to adolescent sensibilities.

Several of the actors come with previous experience on junior high school stages, and chose Proctor aware of the reputation established in recent years.

We talk a lot about experiential education at Proctor--about programs abroad, out west, or at sea. Those of us who spend our time in Andover know that it starts here.

Congratulations to all who were a part of this production!

Drama Tech is a full-blown activity that provides real-life experience.
Evidence of the directors' creativity: Puck is played not as a fawn, but as an exaggerated 21st Century teenager.
The arts attract artists.
This show was another in a series of absolute triumphs for Proctor theater.
Can it be? Junior Birdman?
