Art in the afternoon.
Visiting alumni are impressed by the elevated role of arts in the lives of today's PA students. Whole groups--including jazz/rock band, ceramics, and a touring theater--spend their afternoons in creative pursuits instead of snowboarding (or whatever.) A raucous, high-volume rock band (forget the "jazz" part--there are no horns in this winter's incarnation) blasted a delerious audience in Friday's assembly.
Meanwhile, in the eastern confines of Slocumb Hall, Patrice Martin's ceramics jocks are contructing fountains and murals to be installed in the Learning Center and English areas.
