Beanie Babies.
We have a great relationship with the Andover Elementary and Middle School. Yesterday at 1:30, their entire population marched across the street in a pleasant snowfall to see the Proctor Academy Touring Theater's production of Alladin and the Magic Lamp.
When we think of experiential education, Proctor's off-campus programs come to mind. Today in algebra 1, however, students applied equations to a common, real life problem. First, observations were recorded on how far a beanie baby falls tethered to an elastic band.
The problem is to calculate how many elastic bands it takes for a beanie baby to fall 35 feet in the atrium of the Learning Center and come closest to the floor without touching.
The calculations were surprisingly accurate!
