Proctor is a magnet for students with passionate interests because we've attracted an adult population with the same predisposition. Whether the issue is kayaking, dance, ski jumping or calculus, the energies of the finest teachers are reflected in our students. Witness the effect of performing arts directors Terry Stoecker and Michael Littman as the spring musical West Side Story comes together.
This year alone, Proctor drama has already produced Twelfth Night, a children's theatre interpretation of Cinderella, and two student directed plays: Three Shows and a Couch and the powerful Laramie Project. Tonight, the Norris Family Theater is busy with choreography, dance, blocking and stumbing through lines....
The recent history of drama here is impressive: The Foreigner, Steel Magnolias, Pinnochio, Aladdin, The Crucible, All in the Timing, Robin Hood, Christmas Carol, Beaty and the Beast, You Can't Take it With You, The Ugly Duckling, Three Bears, Marvin's Room, In the Eyes of the City, The Beautiful People, God, The Miracle Worker, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lost in Yonkers, Andrew Lloyd Webber Review, The Diviners, The Inner Circle, Diary of Anne Frank, Alice in Wonderland....
...and the magnificent spring musicals: Cabaret, Grease, Oliver, Bye Bye Birdie, Midsummer Night's Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Once on This Island, Little Shop of Horrors...
