Yearbooks were just distributed, and everyone is pouring through them.

In its wisdom, the Class of 2004 dedicated the yearbook to Tom Eccleston, who is retiring after more than four decades as a teacher, coach and administrator at Pilgrim HS in Rhode Island, The Hill School, Holderness School and Proctor.

At Proctor, Tom has been a history teacher, a highly successful football (and former baseball) coach and Director of Athletics. He's a no-nonsense man of few words and much character, and we will miss him. Below, Joe slides to avoid a tag at the plate:

Congratulations to the boys' varsity tennis team on an undefeated season! Below, Ben shows some flair and black BVDs as he pummels a backhander:

Everyone has his nose in a book.
Dave Fleming dressed as "Ecc" at Sunday's surprise party at the ski lodge. Note bronzed feet in sandals. Holderness friends joined us.
In assembly, Steve quotes Holderness's legendary football coach, Norm Walker, who joked, "I hate Proctor. They stole my best friend!"
One last time: Tom Eccleston intones his classic expression, "Unbelievable!"
New England doubles champions: Dave and John.
Official sports are over. Nick's working on an ancient game.
Today's caption teaser (use Comments feature) should include the name "Wilber" if possible.
