Note to self: Don't write that the graduating class may be the "most likable" six days before welcoming back alumni from all
other classes.
Our June reunions are several different events over the course of a single day. It starts with people straggling in, greeting friends, enjoying some food, and generally hanging out.
Usually, the mob heads to Elbow Pond for an afternoon of swimming and sunbathing, but that wasn't going to happen this year.
After those present (people arrive all afternoon) have finished lunch, we offer a guided campus tour highlighting newer facilities, and the relationship between those facilities and the unique market position established by the school over the past several decades.
So, for example, a visit to Pebody House (distant) and stroll across the new Farrell Field turf complex toward the new locker room facility all demonstrate the significance of
residential life to Mike Henriques's tenure as Head of School.
As evening approaches, the crowd swells and faculty arrive to socialize.
The Classes of 2008, 2003, etc., pose for photos.
After dinner, Nick's Other Band gets the crowd on its feet in the Wise Center.
