Stephen's Corner: Student Leader Elections
5/12/2013
Speeches by seven School Leader candidates were delivered in assembly on Thursday and Friday. Each speech was unique and truly inspiring. This year, the speeches were all excellent and exciting due to the time and efforts candidates put into writing and delivering their speeches. Below you see the lovely candidates.

As is tradition, Swayze started off assembly by inviting announcements from peoples' seats and introducing each candidate. After the speeches were over, she advised people to vote not only based of the speeches but also based off who the students are as people and if they could see them as being next year's School Leader.

Here we see Stefan with his phone books that were used to make himself look taller while he was standing behind the podium. The audience found this to be quite humorous. Stefan made sure to let people know that height plays no role in one's ability to lead.

Here, Cortland is in the middle of giving his speech to the community. Telling his story and why he thinks that he might be able to do a good job as a Student Leader.

After all the speeches had been given, it was time for lunch. Students made their way over to the dining hall to eat and cast their ballets. The new School Leader and assistant School Leader for the 2013-2014 school year should be revealed in assembly on Monday.
