Today's page features photographs sent to me by others. For reasons too complicated to sort out here, we celebrate Earth Day weeks after the rest of the world. This year, it began Friday evening with a fine address by Arctic adventurer Tyler Fish. Saturday, we dedicated two hours to a variety of workshops and activities. First, this group scored some ice cream at Jake's.
Workshops took students on nature hikes, community service projects and artistic self-discovery. Here's a group studying the quality and nature of Proctor Pond.
Another group dabbled in water colors on the swing bridge over the Blackwater River.
Another group explored the Philbrick-Cricenti Bog....
....and proceeded on to search for glacial "erratics," rocks transported and dumped by the Wisconson Glacier tens of thousands of years ago.
Now, we switch gears to Saturday evening, as students posed for photos before our semi-formal "Formal." (I guess everything's relative...)
Judging by student participation, this annual dance was a great success, as 238 kids enjoyed themselves at Ragged Mountain Ski Lodge.
