Boarding students return this evening, and winter term gets underway Tuesday morning. For students returning from a ten-week trimester abroad or on the high seas, much has changed. Morton House is gone; they're blasting at the Peabody House site, and one-third of the student population is new. Some things have changed, too, for students returning from just a ten-day break. The old music barn attached to the north end of Ives House is gone, opening a nice view of the Learning Center.
The space between Shirley and Ives will be landscaped with the walkway centered through green space. Over at the Blackwater, the trails await winter's cold.
It has been a busy place. Nine lift towers were placed the other day.
Here's the support structure for the bottom terminal being delivered to a newly poured foundation.
A new, electric power plant arrives soon.
In the meantime, the base terminal structure went up in a hurry.
Up at the top of the hill, a new stop gate is positioned on its poured base.
Bring on the snow!
