The Providence, RI-based rock/indie/reggae band Zox played to a delirious crowd Saturday night in the Wise Center.
Excitement has been building for this event since the start of the year, with promos in assembly including a riotous video featuring thousands of fanatics.
The band is so popular with collegians that we feared an invasion of strangers, particularly after the band's website mentioned a gig on October 13 at a "college" in Andover, New Hampshire.
Faculty presence was great, but no one tried to crash the party. Following the music, students mingled with Eli Miller (guitar), Spencer Swain (violin), Dan Edinberg (bass), and John Zox (drums), purchasing CDs and T-shirts.
The players signed autographs and groups of happy kids posed for photographs.
Thanks go out to the Student Activities Office for bringing this entertainment to school, and to local parents who assited with setup and crowd control. Everyone really rose to the occasion.
Thanks, too, to the student band, Pillbox Light Reaction, which opened for Zox on the big boys' equipment.
