I try to post a new page every other day, but a photo-shoot I planned Thursday couldn't happen. Therefore, I've scrambled some pix together for your entertainment; (the photo-shoot is happening Saturday morning.) Here's North Street between classes before the rains returned.
The Wise Center is the place to hang out during precious free moments, and it's a magnet for day students. Here's Tyler irritating a cluster of innocents with Brenda's Nikon D-200.
Just outside, in the lobby, students listen to music on laptops.
More of the same:
When Zach, who is a junior, entered this calculus class, he didn't know that the rest of the class would depart for senior projects in May!
Zach is pictured, of course, with Lee Carvalho. This morning, I had the privilege of offering a brief slideshow tribute honoring Bert and Lee, as well as Bert and Dani Hinkley, who will be leaving this campus after collectively serving Proctor for 112 years. Bert Carvalho will teach a section at Proctor in Spain next year; the others are retiring. After the slideshow, Mike Henriques called them down onto the stage.
When the applause died down, and assembly came to an end, Mike invited us to come forward to congratulate the Carvalhos and Hinkleys. It was an emotional mob scene.
English teacher Jane Barban doesn't have favorites, but if she did....
