Intense Play
1/7/2007

Today's themes are intensity and play. If the faculty that plays together stays together, the Java Hut is an asset. For several weeks now, the Woodlands Management building has been transformed into an espresso/capuccino/latte salon for the hour preceeding Friday assemblies. Sugary rolls and good cheer accompany steamy caffeine. Fortunate are those with E block free!

Play, of course, can be intense, as Phill demonstrates against New Hampton:

And, speaking of intensity, check out the dedicated concentration of students at the scorers' table during JV boys' win over Brewster:

Fans can be intense. Observe:

Girls' varsity basketball warm up for their game Friday afternoon:

If you look carefully, you'll see the puck in the lower right corner of the net, as boys' varsity hockey skated to a 7-4 win over Holderness.

Then, there's wrestling. On Saturday night, the Wise Center was transformed into a Sumo ring.

Smoke rising over the Woodland Manager's office invites faculty to the Java Hut.
A new sign announces a new tradition.
Andrew takes a call while watching basketball.
Three boys swarm the Holderness net. Observe the puck in the back.
Matt unloads a slapshot in the first period against Holderness.
Wrestling hold? No: these are Sumo wrestling fans.
Dylan and Henry watch Sumo wrestling with intensity.
Classical pianist Jayne Kelly plays Chopin with intensity.
