Proctor Unvarnished
10/18/2005

We loan a camera to students so that they can document their lives. The results are fantastic, bringing us the full range of emotions at a boarding school. There are places where some of us will not go with a camera, like the floodplain of the Blackwater River during a prolonged deluge:

We see the unvarnished reality of adolescent life... the heroic and the mundane. A lunch table chat....

...hours of homework in a dormitory room...

Our artist captures his own image in a study of contrasting hats....

...and even rock stars.

The camera infiltrates the otherwise private domains of dorm life.
The full range of human experience is revealed. Students lending a helping hand....
The tedium of a bus ride....
Unvarnished emotion.
Looks like rage....
A psychedelic beast.
A peace activist.
Reluctance.
At least we're not wasting film!
Happy birthday, Joe, from your many friends at Proctor!
