We are one week in to the school year, and you would think we've been here a month. Returning students seem pumped to be back; one parent told me, "The energy level in the car kept building all the way from Massachusetts." The yearbook staff called for seniors to congregate for their class photo.
Seniors are psyched.
The Wise Community Center is ground zero for the evening social scene, with dozens of kids hanging out, noshing, playing air hockey, pool, foosball or watching TV.
New students seem comfortable, too, although their behavior may seem a bit different. These ninth graders pulled themselves away from a sermon on some church channel for this photo.
One trend over the past year is the increased popularity of dorm grills for spontaneous cookouts before study hall begins at 8:00. Here, in front of Ives House, Emma wields an accelerant.
