Merry's Corner
5/19/2005

In the beginning, there were school magazines. Each one was immediately obsolete, so we came up with websites, and made them in the image of magazines. This was too bad, because they were always obsolete, too. Then came self-managed, spontaneous websites, and most people were pleased, because they were real-time and honest; others panicked because of the loss of controlled message. Today, we give a "loaner" camera to students to document their lives, and see what happens!

Meredith, or Merry, a highly successful junior from Dorchester, MA, returned the cam today with a revealing rant on student life. She may have to help me with captions (I'll change text if necessary) but here we start with what appears to be a posed image of typical free-time study in Gulick House.....

At least, in the next photo, Merry is apparently holding the camera, as Ainsley holds a wildflower for Lizzie to enjoy just north of the Fowler Learning Center.

Now we get to the real dirt. Gulick House girls in a room that definitely fails room inspection.

Images realites continues. Here's Eben lighting in to some kind of cherry-and-whipped cream dessert at the junior class's recent party in the Wise Center.

Oh, Eben's not the only one doing dessert this night at the Wise....

Let's call this "Saka, contortionist."

Well, this is what you get when you don't write to people.
Surrealism: Emma in trench coat with somebody else's painted toes.
Outside of classrooms, we've been terrorized for more than a week by an ongoing game of "assassin." Bruce is armed and ready for his prey.
