Saturday's athletic contests included wins by girls' varsity and JV lacrosse. For the second consecutive time, the opponent did not have enough girls for a distinct JV team, so our JV (with 28 players) took on a team largely comprised of varsity players.

The highlight of Saturday night's entertainments was a rock concert by two student bands. Station 7, whose songs include "Private School Blues," have their own alternative sound. They like bands like Reliant K, Hawthorne Heights and The Starting Line. Here's Ryan:

Earlier in the day, before he picked up his guitar, Ryan (right) showed he can rock playing volleyball.

Back to the rock concert. This was the premier of the band "Adam VanDusen and the Hopeless Romantics." Here are romantics Alex and Nikos with Ryan and Chewbacka.

JV girl's lacrosse ran off three straight goals to win 5-4.
Along the sidelines, Bo relaxed and enjoyed the game.
Ty belts out a tune for Station 7.
Anthony on drums.
Alex sings for Carr House-based "Adam VanDusen and the Hopeless Romantics."
The Romantics' other Alex on guitar.
Alex and Jack had lots of fun.
As did other attendees.
Not everyone went to the rock concert. Caitlin and Jess went to Walmart and rode the merry-go-round.
