Local Traditions
1/19/2005

This page examines local traditions on three continents. At Proctor, we continue to require boarding students planning weekends away to fill out "weekend cards," necessitating acquisition of signatures from teachers, coaches, dorm parents, advisor.... The photos to the right capture Eben's recent attempt to fill his Weekend Card with the signatures of just about eveyone at this school.

It is traditional, when a new group of Proctor students arrives at our campus in Segovia, Spain, that they pose in front of that city's dominant Alcazar.

And it's traditional for them to also pose inside.

Here we see Sean and Julia involved in a typical Spanish wild goose chase.

Our program in Guanacaste, Costa Rica is in its second term. Laura and Sarah are seated at left; Chistiana is third from right.

I thought this was touching.
