Station Seven

This school year has gotten off with a bang. Here is Revolutionary War buff Phil Goodnow demonstrating the use of black powder (potassium nitrate, charcoal, and sulfur).

All boarders are here on the first weekend, so we schedule plenty of activities and entertainment. A student rock band performed Saturday night in the black box theater. I don't usually use last names, but they're going to be household names soon. Station Seven is comprised of three staff kids. Ty Morris got a special haircut for the performance.

They call their music "alternative" because at least one parent doesn't like the word "punk." I call it frantic and aggressive. Ryan Major:

They performed some favorites, like "Grind Alike" and "Mess" in front of dozens of adoring fans. Anthony McLeod:

After the concert, a professional disc jockey took control of the Wise Student Center, and the place rocked. Mike Walsh and Gregor Makechnie grilled burgers outside, and hundreds of students had a good time.

A grill outside the Wise Center served up cheeseburgers, etc.
The professional DJ seemed to know exactly what people wanted to dance to.
And the floor was crowded.
Some kids came dressed to kill.
Some preferred the athletic look.
Upstairs in the game rooms, Sam was a shark....
...while Bruce rules with the backhand.
