Bonus Weekend--a four-and-a-half-day midyear break--began Thursday at noon, so we're pretty much shut down. These photos you see comprise a retrospective on a week that saw crazy fluctuations in the weather!
A highlight for me (as a photographer) was junior varsity boys' ice hockey's pick-up game on Proctor Pond during light snowfall. This is where Proctor hockey began; in fact, the pond was created specifically for hockey.
There's nothing like the sound of skate blades on natural ice, and pond hockey without boards (I knew it as "shinny") is irresistible fun.
Meanwhile, the Alumni/Development Office is pursuing a fun plan! Rather than arrange another alumni hockey game in the rink, let's go retro and play on the Pond! We'll rent some lights on stanchions, build a bonfire, serve up a grille and chase the puck around... The fun starts at 6:30 on Saturday, February 23. Call me if you have questions at 603-735-6213.
This was a week when several language classes prepared ethnic foods. Working in small teams, students shared recipes in Spanish or French, answered questions, and--in some cases--played home-made videos mimicking television cooking shows. They were hilarious. Here are Max and Will with a platter of
nachos grandes.
Students in Design Theory begin a segment on Fibonacci patterns by observing past student creations.
In AP Bio, we're studying the growth of bacteria under diverse conditions.
And documenting outcomes on the whiteboard.
Goodbye until Monday night!
