Submitted for your approval.... The ides of November approach... What students at a small New England prep school can not know is that they've entered a twilight zone... a dimension of time and space lost between equinox and solstice... neither fall nor winter. A ripple in the fabric of spacetime in which a ski team executes leapfrog relays on Carr Field.

We're caught in a realm between shadow and direct light... It's time to test a prototypic kayak on the pond. The committee that determines the definition of a slalom kayak has decided to throw out the length stipulation, thereby encouraging weekend 'yakers to take a run on the wild side. Westy, a junior, has hacked off the bow and stern of his formerly pointy boat, and fashioned a blunt, wholly unique modification. Below, he discusses a possible mold for mass producing new boats while mentor Bert Hinkley takes #1 through some turns.

The results are cause for celebration.

On Farrell Field, five boys play rugby.... a sport not offered here.

Welcome....to the Twilight Zone.....

The Twilight Zone's brilliant writer and host, Rod Serling points a raygun with laserbeam accuracy.
Take a time machine back five weeks... to the boathouse. Westy cuts off the stern of a slalom kayak.
In a parallel continuum, Westy experiences satisfaction with the product of his dreams.
New to a sport we don't play, Cory puts Slade in a headlock.
Richard Feynman, who is with Rod Serling right now, explained that for a particle to travel from one point to another, it actually travels all possible paths.... All but one of these cancel out, so all we see is this lateral.
This time, at least, Whit finds Joe easy to tackle.
It's a numbers game, of course. Who knows what will happen in the future?
