The spring musical production of
The Man of La Mancha plays Friday and Saturday at 7:00 PM.
Once again, the drama team has pulled off an artistic triumph, in a show that conveys irrepressible hope and quest for dignity in the worst of times. The acting is near-professional in quality, and the vocals are over-the-top!
Most of The Man of La Mancha is a play within a play. With all of the hard work that is going on here, I am tempted to dwell on the concept of "play." Athletic teams played their final games of the year Wednesday.
Sports are structured play. The late arrival of warm spring weather encourages less structured recreation, too. Students soaked a couple of large tarps with soapy water to create a serious slip-n-slide outside the Community Center Wednesday night.
They hurled themselves with reckless abandon on the cold slide...
Soon, they broke into teams for relay races.
At some risk, they skidded while standing.
