I just spent a long weekend in Denver, attending a conference at which Keith Barrett, Kim Hurlbutt and I shared some Proctor wisdom with 250 attendees from schools and colleges. While Denver was typically snowy and cold, Proctor in Spain was also experiencing winter weather, as documented by these photos sent by Derek Mansell.
These students are standing in front of Segovia's iconic
Roman aquaduct--presumed to have been built during the first century A.D.
I am excited and grateful to have the opportunity to visit both Proctor in France and Proctor in Spain in a couple of weeks, and I look forward to posting Corners from a variety of locales during my time abroad.
My time in France will be documenting our new program in Pont l'Abbe, Brittany, and my time in Spain will include an excursion up north to San Sebastian and Bilbao, site of the Guggenheim Museum. Here's the group posing in front of Segovia's Alcazar.
As you can see, it has been snowing in Segovia. Now, let's travel 4,757 miles west to Denver, Colorado, where a group of alumns joined Keith Barrett, Greg Samaha, Kim Hurlbutt and me for a fun evening.
At the conference, we met up with one of the great ones: Jim Drawbridge, who served as Director of Development from 1975-1979 (I think). Here, he greets our current Director of Development, Keith Barrett, whom Jim knew as a 13 year-old.
Keith, Kim and I spoke to a packed room at the conference, describing the innovate theory and practice behind our electronic communication, and stewardship of relations with donors. By the time we were through, the audience demonstrated that they got it.
Yeah. They really bought in!
