Show Me Love!
9/16/2003

I'm not the only one running around this place with a digital camera. No, my friend Brenda Godwin has a point & shoot with which she collects images for the yearbook. We don't get in one another's way because we have different goals, and different methods. Brenda wants people posing.

Every day, in assembly, she announces which cluster of students she wants to meet outside (sophomores....siblings....everyone with a black North face parka....) and they pose for the camera.

Today she called for sophomores, and they did what they do....

They posed.

My task is different. A campus paparazzo, I sneak around and grabs candids, like this one of Nick staring out the library window...
A few feet away, Isha concentrates on web research, unaware that I'm lurking behind stacks with a Sony CCD set for still images.
So engrossed in chemistry is Jon that he barely notices my stealthy approach within inches of his test tube.
OK, these guys are posing.
Bert Hinkley presents a mounted elk's head he found in his barn to the boys of Morton house, who already share their dorm space with so many other critters.
When I said, "Show me love!" I didn't expect things to go this way.
