It is always amazing to see how fast we reach full throttle after a vacation. Over the break, I wrote a lot of text describing the academic curriculum. The number of electives at Proctor enables students to customize highly individualized college preparatory experiences. Hannah and Drew are cranking in one of several Advanced Math options: Design Theory.
The ability for any student to create his/her own experience has been a reality here for decades. It is only recently, however, that we have identified this quality as a core principle.
Xander and Daniel confer in algebra 2. Why didn't we work in teams when I went to high school?

It is true that the place is crawling with visitors. I like to think about what they see in the raw moments between classes, when we're moving through the halls.....
It's always chaotic in the Wise lobby after assembly.

When I was in high school, if I listened to music that was 40 years old, it would have been the music of
Fats Waller. (In fact, I
was listening to Fats Waller....but no one else was. I'm striving for irony here!) The point is that many students--today--are devotees of '60s rock 'n roll. These two are grooving to the
Trashmen's iconic 1963 hit
Surfin' Bird."
