In a matter of days, the pace of activity on campus will increase, as faculty return from summer adventures to prepare for the school year. Kristofer Johnson spent a week in July teaching at Oberlin College's Vocal Academy for High School Students, where Jaguar was a student. Kris sent this photo of Jag, who appears to be signing autographs!
It is ironic that native Bahamians tend to be poor swimmers. In response, a non-profit organization named
Swim to Empower teaches kids on Eleuthera to master classic strokes. Teandra spent three weeks with American volunteers, helping her fellow Eleutherans.
Maggie climbed 13'500 feet for the Climb to Fight Breast Cancer on Mt. Rainier with her mom. Here they are pictured at Camp Muir , which is at 10,000 feet.
Madison spent nine days studying at Science at SEA through the fabulous
SEA Education program in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, followed by a nine day circumnavigation of Cape Cod aboard the schooner Corwith Cramer, pictured below.

Spirit of Massachusetts set sail for the Caribbean on September 17 from Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Coincidentally, Bobby's mom caught this photo of him ferrying her across Boothbay Harbor a couple of weeks ago.
Last week, I had the opportunity to visit math teacher George Emeny at his summer get-away on the beautiful Door County peninsula (Wisconsin). Here's George exploring the limestone shores of Lake Michigan.
