For a school of 300 (in Andover,) Proctor has a very large campus. Even if you discount the woodlands and ski area--which span an entire river valley--the core campus requires that students travel good distances from dorms to dining room, from recording studio to library. Wheels help.

Oddly, wheels are prefered by males more than females (who tend to walk school pathways at a brisk clip.) Oh, happy birthday, Corrine.
There are exceptions to every rule, of course. Although, in truth, this little descent ended up badly.....
OK. So the Chuck's Corner icon/link that graces the front page (and the top right image, here) needs to go. It just has to happen. Get over it. What should replace it? Well, it would be nice if I were in it, doing what I do.....and what I do more than anything else is capture student life, unvarnished....which means skateboarding. So I brought in professional photographer Chris Kontoes to shoot me shooting Will and Alex skateboarding. Here they are, ready:
And here's the photographer getting out of their way after they've careened past me.
Which image will we pick for the front page link? That'll be determined, but they look something like this:
You can't do this job without exploring student lifestyles. There's a myth that adults can't learn to skateboard, but it turns out to be false. Just ask Ryan Bishop, who gave me a few pointers. (Like, keep the rear wheels in the grass....)
