The start of a school year is a time of possibilty. Students--new and old--have the opportunity to present new commitment, goals and levels of achievement. For most entering kids, wilderness orientation offers an ideal environment for the process of choosing the values and relationships that will define their year. They are hiking and camping out in the White Mountains now. For aspiring varsity athletes, pre-season sports camps offer a similar start to the new year. The field hockey team is stacked with veterans.
Boys' varsity soccer finished the 2006 season with the longest undefeated string in decades, and is looking good. Assistant coach Ian Hamlet remarks that this squad is comprised of quiet leaders, without big egos.
