I'm away on vacation and am recycling some of last spring's better pages. This one first appeared May 28.
We are graduating on the latest date possible: June 7. With sports over for the year and a week to go until finals, we scramble to offer a whole slate of new and creative afternoon activities and entertainments. Wednesday afternoon, advisee groups strolled to five continents--sections of the fieldhouse and dining room--getting passports stamped, and sampling international arts, crafts and cuisines. These young ladies are setting on southwestern fry bread.
In the Far East, tattoos are most popular. Here we see Nora inking Jeremy, who--in turn--is tattooing Alexander.
Australia and New Zealand were found in Cannon Dining Room. Here one sampled salty Vegemite (our Audtralian friends claim to eat it every morning on toast) and ANZAC biscuits, which are a kind of sweet, chewy, eggless oatmeal cookies. Periodically, we lined up to execute the Haka, a war dance used by the New Zealand Rugby team before matches.
Around the World was another successful, seemingly spontaneous event orchestrated out of Student Activities. In fact, a lot of people made it work.
