No one has figured out why the members of the Development Office get along so well, and our perpetual euphoria must be the source of irritation to some. One thing's for sure: we make a big deal out of every one's birthday. Yesterday we feted Stewardship/Database Mgr Kim Hurlbutt at a new restaurant in Concord's strip mall. From left: Jay Goulart, Bonny Morris, the birthday girl and Kelly Jarvis.

Our time together is a lot like a Seinfeld episode. Our standards for customer service are beyond anyone's expectations, so when we are the customers, things can spin quickly out of control. Check out Kim's expression as our first server tries her best to win favor:

When initial orders came back wrong we addressed the management, who trotted out a series of waitstaff to appease us.....without success. Here's what we really wanted:

"Good-bye...."
Our second server didn't last long (Greg's seen enough....).
The third got Keith's wings order to us OK.
But she couldn't stand the pressure and was replaced by this delightful flower child.
The food wasn't the problem; it combined the appropriate fats and salt.
The famous Lou Moses made her wishes known to the management.
Greg Samaha has nicknames for everyone: Jay is Spanky, Keith is Fred, The Headmaster is Wally, I'm Sir Charles....
Iceing on the cake: the birthday girl stumbled over a poorly-marked bench and bruised her gluteous maximus.
