Halloween, one of the more significant holidays for teenagers, is upon us, and evidence is everywhere. This is biology:

Most of the images on today's page come from student cameras, such as this intriguing image of Lindsay and Joey at a holiday dance Saturday night in the Black Box theater.

I missed the dance, but student images capture the gore, if not the controversy, over dance styles....

Some attendees looked more naughty than nasty.

Now we go back a few days, to a frigid, dark night, when students in Eco-dorm decided to spend a Thursday night on the boathouse dock at Elbow Pond, so they would be already there for a wood-fired sauna and Polar Swim before dawn (and classes). The transition from a steamy room to 30-degree morning air made these swimmers appear ghostly.

With time, that lens captured this torturous rite in its gruesome reality.

Does this look like fun??!!

Thanks to James McCormick, Molly Prudden and Amanda Perry for contributing photos for this page.

Eco-dorm hosted a hugely successful haunted house Saturday night. What you don't see, here, is the pencil stabbed into Irene's arm....
Ransom made the mistake of complaining that he's never been on this website to his English teacher, who is a close friend of mine. Notified immediately by email, I assumed the role of Ransom's worst nightmare....
I stalked him relentlessly.
This is what Ransom looks like doing math.
Lucy and Raf on the ride out to Elbow Pond for the sleep-over on the dock.
Sleep-dockers in mummy bags.
This looks like fun!
Seen flexing his prodigious muscles elsewhere on this page, John can also take care of business.
