Any notion that this community is emotionally flat or unresponsive (see 2/16 Corner) was disproved this morning, when we cut loose in assembly. First, Blair introduced the steel drum band, which is always well-received, but particularly appreciated given the snowstorm.
Then he outlined the rules for a cookie-eating contest, and introduced the contest's judge: everyone's favorite baker, Edna Peters, who drew a spontaneous standing ovation from her adoring fans.
The contest was a riot, taking us through the full range of human emotions. Two students--Sam and Tim--were pitted against two "adults"--Chris Bartlett and Mike Walsh. It was a relay race, with serious mastication and plenty of milk dripping from chins.
