Let's turn our cameras to what is looking good.
As the school year was beginning in September, the coach of the girls hockey team accepted an offer to coach at UVM. The timing was difficult, and many athletes and their families were worried. Soon enough, though, we found Christina Dotchin, one year out of Colby College, and ready to take on the challenge. Christina turns out to be gifted with teenagers. She's helping run MLS (a boys dorm) from the third floor apartment, and--with Doug Houston's assistance--is coaching a team that loves playing hockey for her.
This is a special group of girls, with a lot of positive chemistry and great senior leadership, and this combination results in wins. Their record to date is 10 wins, 1 loss and a tie. This photograph captures our School Leader, Erin Davey, scoring the second of her three goals in Sunday's 5-1 win over Canterbury School (CT).
It's a talented, dedicated team having a lot of fun, but it is not large. Players usually play every other shift. Below, defensive stalwart Amanda Perry unloads a slapshot from the blue line. How did it take so long for Amanda to show up on this site?!
Moving on..... The tables in the dining room are expected to seat six students. When they like each other, however, students can exceed all expectations.
Can you guess which one is Ian?
