Physics teacher Brian Kellogg has offered electric car building projects for a couple of years. This year during Project Period "Team Electrathon" started a battery-powered motorcycle. The thing was radically modified by his physics students after the Advanced Placement exam in May. Then Buildings & Grounds Director Will Ames had a vision and assigned Graham Cullen '01 to make the bike rock. Graham finished up this morning.
Graham is a mechanical genius who wants to teach at Proctor someday (he's a junior at Clarkson) and "Green Lightening" is now a chopper capable of 25 miles per hour.
A faux gas tank adds panache, and the plan calls for a professional air-brush paint job before the thing debuts at next June's motorcycle weekend in Laconia. In the meantime, Brian didn't turn many heads when he rode Green Lightening in the Fourth of July parade.
