Welcome to Proctor Academy's Academic Blog! Our goal for this space is to provide a window into the academic life of Proctor's students and faculty through chronicling the educational journey our students navigate while at Proctor.
Whether it involves visiting 15th century art while studying abroad in Segovia, Spain, leading a seminar in U.S. History class, dissecting a pig in Advanced Placement Biology, or learning the art of Surveying as a math elective, Proctor's academic experience challenges students to understand, appreciate, and value new perspectives and experiences, while engaging in demanding college preparatory classes.
Over the course of the year, this Blog will attempt to capture the unique learning environment Proctor's teachers and administrators create for their students.
It will strive to illustrate the tremendous breadth of Proctor's curriculum, while articulating the balance of rigor and support.
It will allow student work to be highlighted,
As well as faculty accomplishments and projects.
It will communicate the struggles that accompany learning.
Along with the feelings of accomplishment when those challenges are overcome.
Through pictures, videos, narratives, and "guest posts" from students on campus and abroad, the academic vitality of Proctor will be communicated openly and honestly, the way every Proctor student and faculty member experiences learning each day.
Please check by multiple times a week for updated posts throughout the Fall Term and always feel free to leave a comment!
